Description

The Mystery of Time fanart aka Aaron and random clockwork (if you have no idea what I‘m talking about: [link]).

This took forever to colour. Seriously. I don‘t know whether I like it or not, but I sure learned a lot! And I think it‘s by far the darkest painting I‘ve ever done. I should try to do that more often. It adds drama!

Today's lessons:
-I never ever want to paint without liquid watercolours again.
-Masking fluid would have been helpful. I should buy some.
-Gold paint can get mouldy. YUK.
-The scanner picks up unfortunate brush strokes which you can hardly see on paper. I should learn to make prettier brushstrokes.
-It's not only the TMOT story which takes place in Victorian England, the TWT storyline was supposed to take place in 19th century, too. I had completely forgotten about that. It's not helpful if you sing about cars with rear-view mirrors or stages with spotlight in your songs, Tobi! But maybe it's some kind of time-twist and Aaron can time travel and arh I don't know what.
-Clock displays are indeed circles, not eggs. Don‘t know why I only noticed that I had drawn an egg shape when I was already colouring it. Let‘s say it‘s an easter egg, okay?

The clockwork here is pretty much a combination of the Clocktower from Soul Calibur III (…what?) and the machine from the TMOT booklet. Hey it‘s my humble attempt at doing something steampunk-ish, okay?

Watercolours and some acrylics. A bit experimental… but at least now I have something to carry with me in my bag at the concert!

Ah so you're into Norse and Celtic mythology AND Victorian steampunk? Me too, great combination of subjects! :D
